These are available to distinguished scholars whose work is of relevance to the Institute. Senior Research Fellows are attached to the Institute for the period of their tenure and are given full use of the Institute’s facilities, including access to the Senate House Libraries, institutional email, an office space on a hot-desking policy. Furthermore, Fellow are encouraged to include their details in the SAS-Directory of Research and Expertise as well as to make use of the SAS online repository service, SAS-Space.

Applications should be sent to Kay Musonda, Institute Administrator,  including:

  • a completed application form
  • an up to date CV
  • two references
  • a short statement of the research to be undertaken during the period of the proposed Fellowship and/or publications expected to result from it.

The next round of applications will open on 1 September 2024.

If you wish to apply for an extension to your Senior Research Fellowship, please download the Extension Form. The completed form should be sent to ics@sas.ac.uk by 31 January 2025.
