ICwS meeting with the new Secretary General of the Commonwealth

Today, Professor Kingsley Abbott, Director of the Institute of Commonwealth Studies, and Senior Lecturer, Dr Olivia Lwabukuna, had the privilege of meeting with the new Secretary General of the Commonwealth, the Hon Shirley Botchwey. They extended their warm congratulations on her appointment and provided an update on ongoing joint projects with the Secretariat, including on efforts to decriminalise poverty and status. The discussion also explored potential new areas for collaboration. The meeting concluded with the Institute reaffirming its commitment to supporting the Secretary General and her team in advancing human rights, the rule of law, and democracy throughout the Commonwealth.
