In late March 2024, the Institute of Commonwealth Studies and its partners, the High Commission of Canada and the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association, held a powerful and important discussion on combatting online harassment and violence against women parliamentarians. The event was organised as part of the Freedom of Expression and Digital Rights work at the Institute.

We were delighted to have Professor Wendy Thomson, Celeste Kinsey, keynote speaker Catherine McKenna and Stephen Twigg join us alongside our impressive panellists which included Dame Maria Miller MP, Yasmin Qureshi MP, Fasiha Hassan MP and Jennifer Robinson.

Watch the informative discussion that took place on the causes of, and proposed solutions, to this global issue.
