2025
- Dr Rahul Ranjan, who received his PhD from the Institute of Commonwealth Studies, has recently published the book Governing the Crisis: Narratives of Covid-19 in India. '“The book presents a multidimensional approach to understanding of the effects of COVID-19 on the lifeworld of the marginalised communities in India.”
- Tanya Venisnik, a graduate from our campus MA in Understanding and Securing Human Rights, has just been at the Human Rights Council working on the rights of older persons; she is the Global Rights Policy Advisor for HelpAge International.
- Lucy Purdon, a graduate from our campus MA in Understanding and Securing Human Rights, has started a new consultancy called Courage Everywhere advising organisations on the impact of technology and human rights. She has been working recently to advance human rights protections for the use of AI in elections, and exploring competition law as a mechanism to hold Big Tech accountable for human rights harms.
- Philippa Stewart, a graduate from our distance learning MA in Human Rights, has recently been advising a UN programme on media strategy and advocacy around LGBTIQ+ rights. She has also recently started consulting for a freedom of expression organisation that works with writers at risk all over the world.
