The Institute of Commonwealth Studies is a base for world-leading research in several fields of scholarship, including history, human rights, and development.

Research is undertaken by members of staff, associates and fellows spanning the whole of the Commonwealth.

The Institute research community produces ground-breaking research at the forefront of several academic disciplines and uses this research to engage a broad range of stakeholders, including government, NGOs and civil society, in the UK, the wider Commonwealth, and beyond.
