This project focused on the arrivals of African and Middle Eastern migrants and refugees who raised substantive challenges of security and justice for Latin American societies.

The School of Advanced Study formed a long-term partnership with Yale University and the National Institute of Advanced Studies to promote discussion, debate and joint research.

One aim of the project was to identity and record into a database existing oral histories of the Caribbean community (UK) for public and academic reference.
