The Institute of Commonwealth Studies Library, located on the sixth floor of Senate House Library, is a major resource for those working on the Commonwealth as a whole, or on any of its member states, in the fields of history, politics and international relations, agriculture, education, the environment, and social questions. We specialise in providing material which is unavailable elsewhere in the UK or, in some cases, in the country of origin.

The Library holds:

  • Over 190,000 volumes
  • Over 9,000 periodical and serial publications
  • 230 archival collections
  • 13,000 publications issued by political parties, trade unions and pressure groups
